Where does the time go? Another year has passed since our last progress report, and we remain committed to helping those with the disease of addiction. 24/7 House is now a 43-bed facility that includes our 8 women and 8 men transitional housing. For a resident to have reached the transitional phase they must be in our program a minimum of 12-months. 24/7 House is a long term 18-month recovery residence. The first male graduated the 18-month program 02/2023, and the first female graduated 06/2024. Today 20 residents completed the 18-month program.
Perhaps you have crossed paths with our residents working and contributing to our community. We are grateful for this opportunity to serve and the support from this special community to help others.
Like many of you, we survived the storm in September 2024. 24/7 House incurred approximately $70,000 in wind damage. We were without power for a couple of weeks but were able to purchase generators to keep our residents comfortable and fed. Today all has been repaired better than before.
Then a few months later the snowstorm came, and we survived that.
In a few days 24/7 House will have its yearly THOR recertification inspection. 24/7 House must meet or exceed standards for a well-run recovery residence. The THOR certification allows 24/7 House to work with the courts of law to assist those in trouble due to their disease of addiction get the help needed.
In June 24/7 House will have its biennial GARR/NARR recertification inspection. This certification sets 24/7 House as professional and is recognized at a state and national level.
24/7 House is involved in many churches that help support this ministry. Our residents committed to weekly practices and performed with First Baxley for the Christmas Cantata. Today they are preparing for the Easter Cantata with First Baxley. The Staff at 24/7 House spirits soar and are inspired to witness our residents praise Jesus, get baptized, and enjoy being in the presence of the Lord. They are changing the stigmas of the disease of addiction even if they are unaware.
A recent study revealed that 6.9 out of 100 addicts ever get the help needed to put their disease in remission. One in eight Americans meet the criteria for substance use disorder.
I believe those that reach the doors of 24/7 House were chosen by God to get better for His purpose. Everyone who arrives will not complete our program, but those that do go on to become real men and women of character.
24/7 House is proud to be a part of this awesome community, and we stand in Faith with you. I pray many of you see God’s work on these special 24/7 House grounds.
