24/7 House
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope!” – Jeremiah 29:11
What a year it has been! We have had a lot of amazing things happen for us over this last year and God has been during it all! Since last April we have had 2 women and 7 men graduate from the 24/7 House. One of them became part of our Staff last June. Mark accepted the role of Residential Manager and is now furthering his education to become a Certified Addictions Counselor and helping our residents by giving back what was freely given to him.
We were able to pay off our property last year. GOD IS SO GOOD! Today we are helping a total of 32 residents, the most we have ever had!!
We have done several upgrades in both the Men’s and Women’s facilities. We renovated the bathroom, creating an additional bathroom in the Men’s House. In the Women’s House, we put in a new shower. With the money we raised in January from our yard sale, we have put into an account that will go to helping indigent residents that have urgent expenses before they begin working. On Labor Day weekend we took our first annual Men’s Camping Trip to the Broad River Outpost. The same weekend, our women went to Blue Ridge to go rafting and hiking. Many of our alumni, who have made Baxley their home, are also involved in Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday nights at Baxley Church of God! We are so proud of the fact that they continue to work on their hurts, hang-ups and habits, even after they have graduated from 24/7!
We just recently celebrated our 17th Anniversary on February 14, 2026! When our journey first began, I don’t think anyone foresaw how successful this ministry would become. The national average success rate is 20%. Ours is 66.5%. If the addict chooses to “stay in the herd”, as Mr. Pete says, then they have an 89% chance of remaining successful!! We are certified and approved by the Georgia Addiction of Recovery Residences (G.A.R.R.) Additionally, we are an approved facility for the Transitional Housing of Offenders Re-entry program (T.H.O.R.) for the state of Georgia. This allows individuals on parole or probation to come to an approved facility that meets state standards. We continue attending different churches throughout the community and have the residents and Staff share their testimonies occasionally. This gives us the opportunity to show people that no matter how far off someone may wander, no matter how deep and dark of a pit they fall into, that God can rebuild and restore all that was once lost and broken.
We are so excited for the future and what the rest of 2026 has to offer. We will continue seeking after God’s Kingdom and having faith that God will continue blessing and providing us with the means necessary to continue helping addicts in their journey of recovery. We will continue striving to bring the lost to Jesus Christ. One day at a time.
Hebrews 10:23 says “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
